Mission, vision and values
Mission
The Museum of Pontevedra is a public, non-profit institution at the service of society and its development. Since its foundation in 1927, its mission has been to conserve, exhibit, research and disseminate a wide collection of archaeological, artistic, historical and ethnographic objects; to offer temporary exhibitions and to contribute to the province’s artistic and cultural development, also carrying out and participating in activities of national and international relevance.
In addition to disseminating culture and humanities in areas of Galician, Spanish and universal interest, the Museum carries out its own research work, focusing mainly on its collections but also on different aspects of the history of the city, the province and Galicia.
